چکیده

1. ABSTRACT This paper argues that the nature and importance of organisation structure and the underpinning design principles are not well understood and yet they play a key role in organisational performance. Existing organisational forms and their design principles are examined via a brief history of the development of modern forms of organisation. There is evidence to suggest that classical science has provided many of the underlying principles for organisation design. Comparisons are made between design principles derived from the classical scientific (Newtonian–Cartesian) paradigm and the complexity science paradigm. A speculative model of an organisation structure based on design principles drawn from the complexity paradigm: ‘The Fractal Web’, is presented. In concluding it is suggested that the use of design principles derived from the complexity paradigm offer a way forward that will facilitate the development of new structural forms that are resilient and more resonant with the times.

The Globalization of Higher Education from the Perspective of the Paradigm of Chaos

The present paper emphasizes that the theory of complexity in the paradigm of complexity while endorsing many of the previous views on the internationalization of higher education and its importance, looks at it from a key and network perspective, and warns researchers not to fall into the abyss of control and delivery. Accepting and emphasizing proposals such as "distribution control" provide...

Knowledge Translation in Healthcare – Towards Understanding its True Complexities; Comment on “Using Complexity and Network Concepts to Inform Healthcare Knowledge Translation”

This commentary argues that to fully appreciate the complexities of knowledge transfer one firstly has to distinguish between the notions of “data, information, knowledge and wisdom,” and that the latter two are highly context sensitive. In particular one has to understand knowledge as being personal rather than objective, and hence there is no form of knowledge that a-priori is more authoritat...

Students’ Oral Assessment Considering Various Task Dimensions and Difficulty Factors

This study investigated students’ oral performance ability accounting for various oral analytical factors including fluency, lexical and structural complexity and accuracy with each subcategory. Accordingly, 20 raters scored the oral performances produced by 200 students and a quantitative design using a MANOVA test was used to investigate students’ score differences of various levels of langua...

Teaching-Learning approach in complexity paradigm

"Teaching-Learning Approach" is a model of interaction between teachers and students in an educational environment and one of the main components of the educational system. This model can be organized and designed on the basis of various opinions and ideas, including philosophical or scientific theories. This research aims to design and explain teaching-learning approach based on the complexity...

A novel vedic divider based crypto-hardware for nanocomputing paradigm: An extended perspective

Restoring and non-restoring divider has become widely applicability in the era of digital computing application due to its computation speed. In this paper, we have proposed the design of divider of different architecture for the computation of Vedic sutra based. The design of divider in the Vedic mode results in high computation throughput due to its replica architecture, where latency is mini...
